Ruth Druart - Míg Paris aludt

Santa Cruz, 1953. Jean-Luc runs away from his past. The scar that disfigures his face is a small price to pay for surviving the horrors of the Nazi occupation of France. Since then, he has started a new life in California, where he has a family. He is caught off guard when the past knocks on his door.
Paris, 1944. The whole life of a young Jewish woman falls apart in a heartbeat. When she is put on the train to Auschwitz, in her final desperation she entrusts her most precious treasure to a strange man. All she has left is the hope that her baby will survive.
There, on the darkened platform, the destinies of two people become intertwined, who at the time cannot even imagine the impact their sudden decisions will have on the development of their future.

The narrators of While Paris Slept are the different characters, each telling the story from their own perspective. Set in one of history's darkest eras, the author's first novel is a moving account of the power of courage, perseverance, family bonds, and what it means to love unconditionally.
