The RØDE Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote is a professional high-end quality stereo video microphone with Rycote Lyre suspension, developed primarily for cameras and DSLR/MILC photographers.

Built on the success of the RØDE VideoMic Pro Rycote and RØDE Stereo VideoMic video microphones, which were introduced in the early 2010s and soon became the DSLR standard, the Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote was made in Australia, which is a great choice for videographers, filmmakers, journalists, nature filmmakers and photographers, as well as music recordings where it is essential to capture the atmosphere and acoustics of the environment in a high-quality manner.

Paired 1/2" high-sensitivity cardioid condenser capsules reproduce a wide stereo image with natural depth with frontal emphasis from the XY arrangement.

The Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote inherits the function set of the VideoMic Pro - and thanks to its ergonomic design - is perfectly suitable for DSLR/MILC and video cameras, as well as for semi-professional cameras built with large image sensors.

The anti-vibration suspension absorbs mechanical noises from vibrations, so they do not impair the quality of the recording. The microphone's special cable produces significantly lower noise level transmission than conventional audio cables.

With the 3.5 mm stereo small jack (TRS) connector, it can be connected to the audio input of most professional and consumer cameras as well as DSLR/MILC cameras, and can be securely attached to the camera using the hot shoe suspension. There is also a 3/8" threaded stand socket at the bottom of the hot shoe connector, so the microphone can also be mounted on microphone stands with a standard thread.

The user-friendly control interface contains the buttons with which we can refine our recording: here we can turn on the low-cut filter (75Hz), which is designed to filter out low-frequency noises such as air conditioning, vehicle traffic or wind noise.
With another button, you can turn on the microphone attenuation, which allows you to reduce the sensitivity of the microphone so that high-volume events, such as live concerts or sports events, can be recorded without distortion.

The same button has another position, which can be used to perform signal amplification, which has already been proven with great success in the case of the VideoMic Pro. This function results in +20 dB signal level gain, which makes the microphone more sensitive. Using this function, in an acoustically treated, noise-free environment (e.g. a studio or a quiet room), significantly more detailed recordings can be made without using the cameras' (usually) lower-quality, noisier built-in audio amplifier to amplify the signal level.
