The RØDE SC10 is a high-quality connecting cable with 3.5mm TRRS connectors. One end of the cable has an ultra-flexible 'Flex' design so that it can be properly tied around the microphone placed on the camera, while the other side has a flattened, reinforced 'Memory' design for durability and easy handling. It is recommended to connect the reinforced side to the camera or recorder, as this connection point is subject to greater stress due to regular disconnection.

A thickened part of the cable is used for stable fixing in the cable guide holes, the purpose of which is to prevent the disturbing movement of the cable during use. Due to this function, the SC10 cable should primarily, but not exclusively, be used with devices that have a cable guide opening. Such devices can be microphone suspensions integrated with some microphones, or separately available microphone holding devices.

The VideoMic NTG video microphone suspension, the SM7-R microphone holder, and the DCS-1 dual hot shoe adapter all have cable routing holes. The VideoMic NTG includes an SC10 connecting cable as standard.
