Product description
As the name suggests, the RØDE Broadcaster studio microphone was specially developed for live and production radio applications, in a demanding technical environment where good frequency transmission, low noise and distortion are required. The former winner of the Radio World/US National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 'What's Cool' award has been traveling the world for the past twenty years and nestling in studios where uncompromising sound quality is an important part of the radio image.
Using the HF2 1" condenser capsule designed and manufactured in Australia, the Broadcaster uses an 80Hz low-cut filter to deal with unwanted low-frequency noise. The capsule is designed to produce the clean and responsive sound you expect from condenser microphones, but as it can only remain insensitive to the acoustic environment and crosstalk.
There is a unique ON-AIR led on the microphone. The microphone comes standard with a 5-pole swinging XLR connector without housing. A technician can easily replace the original 3-pole XLR connection with a 5-pole extension. In this way (and by using a 5-wire cable) it is possible to turn on and off the ON-AIR led on the microphone with contact control (e.g. by switching on the fader of a channel with fader start or with GPIO control). That way, those sitting in front of the microphone can see immediately when they are broadcast.
The main features of the RØDE Broadcaster are:
- Large-diaphragm condenser radio studio microphone
- Built-in On-Air Led
- Extremely low self-noise
- Deep cut switch
- Built-in wind protection sponge
