Product description
Who doesn't remember János Egri's "electric chair" from the Mind Championship or Tamas Vitray and his legendary thonet chair from his talk shows? To the water of György Rózsa's glass from Kaczlattam, to Tibor Dévényi's precise balls from Three Wishes, to István Vágó's little notes from Van benne sámő or to Előd Juhász and the magic of the live broadcasts of Zenebutik? Or János Gálvölgyi, who made everything and everyone memorable with his parodies? And the announcers, the now-disappeared profession that Judit Endrei, Zsuzsa Kertész and József P. Kovács represented every day on the screen? We wanted to learn fashion from them, imitate hairstyles and turns of speech. They were the prototypes of today's influencers, as they influenced the taste, opinion and way of thinking of an entire country during the golden age of Hungarian television. Péter Radnai, a television journalist, conducted interviews with twenty influential TV, background and front-persons for the Spektrum television channel, and collected them in the volume. The conversations revive the heroic age of "royal" TV, the period when the evening programs were the main topics of the next day's conversations. Reading the interviews reveals the last two decades of the Kádár era, the regime change and the turbulent period that followed, the history of domestic television, its ups and downs, its most memorable programs and moments.
