Summer, love, Rome...
Caroline Wood, the editor of the popular London women's magazine, is increasingly successful in her work, but her personal life leaves something to be desired. Her partner, Tom, who runs a trendy hotel in Barcelona, visits her in London much less often than Caro would like, and her work also ties her to her home country.
As the head of the Love Without Borders column, Caroline is always on the lookout for exciting stories. One day, he comes across a news story about an apartment building in Rome, where mostly single people live in one-bedroom apartments. In Rome, this house is only referred to as the House of Love, because many love affairs, and even more, marriages take place here every year. Caro decides that such a special story cannot be left out of her column, so she travels to Rome, although Tom is strongly against the new adventure.
Caro seeks out her childhood friend, who lives near the Italian capital, to help her with her work. Julia is happy to join, so they set out together to find out what strange mystery brings the couples together in the House of Love...
The two girls rent an apartment for a week. Caroline's plans do not include finding a partner at all, but the residents of the apartments do not know about this. Julia, on the other hand, hopes that the strange house might bring her the desired love.
Caro and Julia go through countless exciting, bittersweet and difficult moments before they find out the secret of the Love House. They walk the patinated, romantic streets of Rome, Caroline discovers the unforgettable cafes and restaurants of the eternal city and meets a dangerously attractive Italian who makes her question whether her feelings for Tom are strong enough. How long can they endure the distance, how long can a relationship last if they can only spend a few days together a month? And can either of them leave the city and give up the job they love so much for love?
The latest novel by Angelika R. Kelényi, winner of the Terézanyu Award and multiple nominees for the Golden Book Award, takes us to the eternal city, Rome. Although the book raises serious questions that concern many people, it still charms readers with its humorous and charmingly romantic story.
