Prostate antigen (PSA) is produced by the prostate gland. The prostate is located in the abdominal cavity below the urinary bladder, surrounds the section of the urethral opening that leads out of the bladder and plays a significant role in the production of semen. Changes in the level of prostate antigen provide important information about the state of the prostate. Thus, a level above the normal value may indicate pathological (abnormal) changes (benign enlargement, prostatitis, cancer, etc.).
The PSA test should be performed at least once a year for all men over the age of 50! In the event of a problem, early detection greatly improves the chances of recovery!
The box contains all the tools needed to perform the test:
• 1 sealed aluminum foil bag, containing the test cassette, plastic pipette
• 1 vial, containing 1 ml of diluting solution
• 1 sterile lancet for blood sampling (by finger prick)
• 1 alcohol wipe
• user guide in Hungarian.
