Product description
The nature of the politician has always been at the forefront of philosophical thinking. However, in the case of phenomenology and philosophical hermeneutics, it may have seemed at first that they were rather apolitical trends, but even in the case of the founders Husserl and Heidegger - after processing the legacies - marked political philosophical concepts can be reconstructed. And for subsequent generations connected to the phenomenological-hermeneutic tradition, it was already inevitable - in the light of the cataclysms of the 20th century - to relate to the issues of politics and power. The writings in this volume try to explain and think further about some key moments of this extremely rich and controversial problem. Some of the studies try to reveal the nature of the politician himself. In addition to philosophical hermeneutics and phenomenology, each paper examines the approach of representatives of poststructuralism and political theology. The relationship between Martin Heidegger and National Socialism provokes heated debates again and again, and this issue is currently receiving keen attention in Hungary as well as in the wider world. Most of the writings in the volume deal with this delicate and exciting problem - approaching it from different perspectives: the studies examine the philosophical background of Heidegger's political activity, the place of political philosophy in Heidegger's oeuvre, the position of thinkers in Nazi Germany, the consequences of the Black Notebooks, and Heidegger's later self-interpretation.
