During the development of the NV series and especially the NV9, Phanteks focused on component cooling from the very beginning. The housing is designed to be very open and provide interference-free airflow. The lid is made of mesh, as is part of the right side panel, thus ensuring good air circulation. A total of 12 120mm or 11 140mm fans can be placed in the NV140 for efficient cooling. On the floor, three 120 or 140 mm fans can be connected to the removable frame above the dust filter. On the side, the display case offers space for four 120 mm or three 140 mm fans on a frame that can also be removed. The lid fits three more 120mm or 140mm fans, and the back can accommodate two more 120mm or 140mm fans.

E-ATX motherboards can be easily accommodated for maximum compatibility, as well as 490 mm long and 205 mm wide graphics cards and 205 mm high CPU coolers.
