The eneloop lite has the advantages of the classic eneloop: it can be purchased in a charged state, so it is ready for use immediately. Due to the low self-discharge, during storage it retains 70% of its initial charge even after 5 years. There is a difference between the classic eneloop and the eneloop lite in terms of capacity and the number of charging cycles, as the eneloop lite can be charged up to 3,000 times.
Reducing the capacity led to faster charging: compared to the charging time of the pencil-sized eneloop, the same-sized eneloop lite can be charged in half as much time.
It's also about 30% lighter, which is a big advantage for portable devices that run on multiple batteries.
