Product description
Aztec sage seed (Salvia Hispanica). Chia is a plant belonging to the leguminous plant family, which was originally cultivated by the Aztecs in Mexico. Chia seed as a newly discovered food provides an opportunity to make our diet healthier with regular consumption, as it contains a very high percentage of Omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, dietary fiber, minerals and vitamins. Chia seeds contain large amounts of calcium, as well as phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc, copper, and manganese.
Chia seeds have almost no calories, high fiber content, satiates the consumer quickly and causes a feeling of satiety, because it absorbs water, turns into a thick gel, fills the stomach and slows down the absorption of sugars entering the body, so it is ideal for dieters. The easiest way to consume chia seeds is to eat them raw. The seeds can be added to breakfast cereal or muesli, but they can also be consumed on their own, mixed into fruit juice, milk, or yogurt or kefir. Since it does not have a distinctive taste (chewed seeds have a slightly nutty aroma), it can be added to almost anything. You can sprinkle the seeds on your salad or put them on your sandwiches.
Among the desserts, the use of chia seeds may arise in connection with various puddings and milkshakes, smoothies. Pudding can easily be made from chia seeds, as they absorb well and have a pleasant, gelatinous texture. The seeds can also be added in ground form to various pasta-based dishes, as they are gluten-free, so they can easily replace flour, and many people even use gelatinized chia seeds mixed with liquid to replace eggs.
If we don't want to associate the use of chia seeds with food, then the easiest thing is to freely prepare chia fresca ourselves, after the Mexicans, which is nothing more than a teaspoon of seeds sprinkled with fruit juice, which we let rest for about 10 minutes so that the seeds can soften. Do not consume more than 15g of chia seeds per day!
