Nicolas d'Estienne d'Orves - Eiffel
Product description
A tower of iron and love
Paris, 1886.
The French capital is already preparing for the upcoming world exhibition. The renowned civil engineer Gustave Eiffel believes that this is the best time to build an underground railway line in the city, similar to the one in London. However, an unexpected meeting changes his plans.
Adrienne floats into the crowded salon like an apparition from the misty distance of the past. They met nearly thirty years ago, at one of Eiffel's first works, but the girl's parents were against their relationship. The woman is now the wife of a well-known journalist, and the engineer, even after a happy marriage, looks back on their separation with bitter memories. However, the reunion gives new impetus to his plans, the "iron mage" now wants to conquer the sky of Paris instead of the depths of the earth.
While a part of the population opposes the construction of the three-hundred-meter high iron monster, citing static hazards, its supporters see the tower as the embodiment of the nation's regained self-confidence. However, Eiffel is driven by something completely different. His only goal is to create a worthy memorial to the woman he adores, for which he has now found the perfect form. As the monumental letter A bursts into the sky, storm clouds more dangerous than ever gather in the sky of their love...
