European literature begins with the story of a hero avenging the death of his boyfriend and the love poems of a female poet attracted to her own sex. According to a law passed in 2021 in Hungary, the poems of Homer's Ilias and Sapphó cannot be given to minors, as they depict homosexuality. In this collection of texts, I have selected the most important works about same-sex love from nearly three thousand years of Hungarian and world literature - of course, strictly for those over 18 years of age. The volume includes the works of both heterosexual and homosexual authors: I searched for poems, prose and drama excerpts based not on the biography, but on the basis of the content, the representation of the many faces of love. Anacreon, Horace, Janus Pannonius, Shakespeare, Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Zola, Tolstoy, Rilke, Proust, Babits, Thomas Mann, Antal Szerb, Tibor Déry, Erzsébet Galgóczi, György Faludy, Géza Ottlik, and together with them the works of nearly a hundred authors are included in the anthology. Anyone who is bothered by the depiction of same-sex love - or any - love, should not open this volume! Krisztián Náry
