Product description
One of the new products of the European brand Nous is the Nous B1T, a Wi-Fi smart relay without a power meter function, which can be used mounted behind connectors or light switch assemblies to control them, or any other max. 16 Also for controlling the consumer. It is also capable of potential-free switching and is also suitable for controlling garage doors and gate opening motors. Matter compatible product.
Nous supplies the B1T relay module with Tasmota firmware from the factory, so it is primarily recommended for users and integrators of open source smart home systems and those looking for solutions compatible with Matter hubs.
The Nous B1T WiFi smart switch module can be used as a single-channel relay switch. The device has a built-in ESP32 MINI-1 module and 4MB flash memory and comes pre-installed with Tasmota firmware, which allows easy integration with various smart home systems such as Home Assistant.
The B1T module also supports 100-240V AC or 24-48V DC or 12V DC power supply and connects to the Wi-Fi network using the built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Since the B1T works with Tasmota firmware, it is not compatible with Nous' own application, but rather with open source solutions such as Home Assistant or other systems supporting the MQTT protocol.
Thanks to its small size, it also fits in normal-depth wall sockets, behind the traditional light switch. It has an input for the light switch, so the smart wall switches can still be used as before.
It also works in local mode without an Internet connection or factory cloud, and can be timed.
Matter-compatible solution, connected to a Matter-compatible hub, compatible with Apple HomeKit and SmartThings.
When connected to Matter hub or Home Assistant, it also supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control.
Main characteristics:
- Wi-Fi connection: it is directly connected to the Wi-Fi router via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
- ESP32 Chip: the powerful ESP32 processor ensures stable operation and fast data processing.
- Tasmota firmware: Open source software that allows flexible customization and cloud-free control.
- Single-channel control: suitable for controlling one, max 16A circuit.
- Potential-free switching: capable of dry contact, i.e. voltage-free switching, so it can be used e.g. also for controlling garage doors, motorized door openers or boilers.
- Compatibility: Compatible with many open source smart home systems, e.g. Home Assistant, OpenHAB, Domoticz and others.
- Matter standard compatible: it can be paired with the most common Matter hubs, so it can be made compatible with many smart home platforms: e.g. SmartThings, Apple HomeKit, eWeLink, etc.
- Can be installed in a wall socket: The module can be mounted behind the switches, so it discreetly smartens up the selected traditional switch family.
- Voice control: Compatible with the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa systems, so it can also be controlled by voice control (for Matter hub or Home Assistant).
- Safe and reliable: The open source Tasmota firmware provides local operation and offers a secure solution with local (no cloud) data storage.
