Németh Ákos - Apám garden

"Ákos Németh sees what he writes and hears what his characters say, and consequently the reader also sees and hears it. In this volume there are short stories and short novel-length narratives; the characters are our contemporaries, and the scenes flashed with few words but vividly are familiar . The form seems to be traditional: both the short writings and the longer ones have a plot, some of them end with a joke. Yet we do not hear the voices of old writers, yet we do not recall familiar figures from elsewhere. The images arise even days and weeks later, and each of them has a special atmosphere. Neither I can't get out of my head the prostitutes exchanging recipes, neither the late, rude jokes of the former ideal of women, nor the nightmarish ineptitude of the short novel." (György Spiro)
