"Vitamin C should be on store shelves together with sugar and flour." Albert Szent-Györgyi

We can use the edible ascorbic acid powder in a million ways, for example in the household for baking and cooking, or because L-ascorbic acid is an excellent preservative, e.g. for the natural preservation of jams, preserves and syrups.
It keeps cut vegetables and fruits fresh, protects them from browning, and internally helps to preserve their natural vitamin and mineral content and fiber structure for as long as possible.
When baking, it helps the volume and texture of the dough and improves the structure of the bread. The ascorbic acid in the dough improves the gluten network, so the bread becomes more elastic, has a nicer texture and is more airy. It helps the dough retain gas better, which is why the bread rises more nicely during baking. It slows down the aging (curdling) of baked goods, so the bread or pastry stays soft and fresh for longer.
It can also be used externally, in DIY (do-it-yourself) skin care routines (e.g. mixed into yogurt, clay pack, added to serum, face cream, body lotion or hair pack) for the freshness and shine of the skin and hair.

Vitamin C contributes to:

- to protect cells against oxidative stress
- 1 for the healthy functioning of the immune system
- 2 to reduce fatigue and exhaustion
- 3 for the normal functioning of the nervous system
- to maintain normal psychological function
- for normal energy-producing metabolic processes
- for proper collagen formation and through this for maintaining the normal state of blood vessels, cartilage, skin, teeth, gums and healthy bones
- in addition, vitamin C increases the absorption of iron

For whom is ascorbic acid powder recommended?

- For people who live a stressful lifestyle, smoke, and live in a big city.
- For athletes whose bodies have an increased need for vitamin C.
- For everyone who is looking for a natural, pure, additive-free source of vitamin C.
- Powdered vitamin C is especially useful for those who want to take large amounts of vitamin C or who have difficulty swallowing pills.
- It can be easily mixed in drinks or sprinkled on food (children won't notice).

Vitamin C facts

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin, named after the prevention of scurvy ("a-scorbutic acid").

Many plants and some animals can produce vitamin C, but humans cannot produce it, and our body cannot store it, so it is essential for us, which means that it must be replenished daily.

Albert Szent-Györgyi discovered and isolated vitamin C from paprika in 1932, and in 1937 he received the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology for discovering the role of vitamin C.

Vitamin C is absorbed in the small intestine, mainly in the jejunum and ileum. Cells take up ascorbic acid with the help of SVCT1 and SVCT2 (Sodium-Dependent Vitamin C Transporter). Too many simple sugars can reduce absorption because glucose and ascorbic acid share part of the same transporter.

Tobacco smoke increases oxidative stress, which is why the body needs more vitamin C.

Chronic stress, intense training or physical work increases the use of vitamin C.

During colds, flu, bacterial infections, surgery or inflammatory diseases, the body consumes vitamin C more quickly because of its enhanced antioxidant and immune-supportive role.

Over the age of 50-60, absorption and cellular antioxidant utilization may decrease, so an additional intake may be beneficial.

Fermented L-ascorbic acid dissolves quickly and can be dosed flexibly.
