Natasha Bowen - A deep dala

To survive. Serve. To save your loved ones.
Simi once prayed to the gods. Now she serves them as Mami Wata - a mermaid - by collecting the souls of those who died at sea and then blessing their journey home.
Trouble begins when a boy who is still alive is thrown into the sea. That's when Simi breaks an ancient law and does the unthinkable: he saves the boy's life. He knows well that punishment awaits all those who defy the will of the gods. In order to protect the other Mami Watas from the wrath of the gods, Simi must visit the Supreme Creator to plead for his forgiveness.
However, things get complicated. There is the boy he saved; he knows more than he should. And there's something else. Something that follows Simi like a shadow, and that would delight in his downfall... Danger stalks Simi from all directions, and as he approaches his goal, he must face vengeful gods, treacherous lands, and legendary creatures. Because if he fails, he puts not only the fate of the Mami Watas at risk, but also the world he knows.
