Product description
Toward the end of his writing career, Zsigmond Móricz wrote his book depicting the fate of "vile orphans" and divided into psalms, which is still considered by his posterity to be one of his best and most important works. Móricz created a lyrical novel based on the material of the few years of Csöre's life, spent with the small farmer, the big farmer and the small industrialist. Zsigmond Móricz stated his intention as a writer in his magazine Kelet Népe: "I think it's a terrifying book, but there's not a single line of fantasy in it. I've never written a book like this before. Even the tiniest sentence of it rose from raw life itself, like sulfur from the swamp steam." And it became the most lyrically pathos novel of our modern literature.
