In Miksáth's cheerfulness, laughter turns into muffled sobs in his short stories, and the seemingly cheerful story ends with a tragic bang. This mixture of laughter and crying, the comic and the tragic, makes Móricz's stories have dramatic tension, just like his short story The Seven Krajcár.
