Charlie Grant's sister is getting married this weekend. This is a special occasion, because the whole family is together again for the first time after many years. Charlie now just wants to focus on making this weekend perfect. Decisions like which university to go to or whether to get together with Jesse Foster, whom she has liked for a very long time, may await. The only problem is that the weekend is turning into an absolute disaster. First, the wedding planner steps down. Then the house alarm keeps going off and a tuxedo is missing. Unexpectedly, the boy Charlie is secretly very fond of appears, then a dog and one of the angry neighbors who want to destroy appear. There are relatives who don't speak to each other and a huge storm is coming. Not to mention her new assistant wedding planner, who is surprisingly...mind-blowingly...a good guy. And then the real madness hadn't even started. After three ridiculously chaotic days, Charlie learns a surprising amount about his family, even though he thought he knew them like the back of his hand. And he realizes that if you try to keep everything as it was in the past, you are wasting the future.
