Product description
"Stop, and I'll show you that there is a brave boy even among the people of Pál Street, if nothing else, the Nemecsek, the private! I'm here, please, I overheard the whole meeting, I stole our flag back, now come on, let them do it to me, whatever they want, beat me, twist the flag out of my hand, because I won't give it up on my own. Come on, come on, just on it! After all, I'm alone, and there are ten of you!"
"The Pál Street Boys is the book that grew to my heart the most. I wrote it in 1906 in sequels for a youth magazine edited by my former teacher, Dr. Kornél Rupp. At that time, of course, I did not have a regular writing schedule, so I wrote in the gallery of the artist's café on the körút in the afternoons the individual sequels. The typewriter personally took care of this and almost tore the due manuscript pages out of my hands. Anyway, I liked working in the gallery because of the great silence, because nothing disturbed me at work apart from the usual buzzing of the coffee house and the non-stop military band. So this is it. in the calm place, I dreamed back to my childhood, when I was still attending the reformed high school in Lónyay Street, and the ground was really in Pál Street. Although the novel is a product of my imagination, its characters were still alive. These were my fellow students, two of whom I still have the best relationship with to this day I live in friendship."
