Michael Morpurgo - Flamingo boy

Product description
The story takes place in the uniquely special region of the Camargue in southern France during World War II. Between the salty plains and flamingos, an autistic little boy lives on his parents ’farm. He doesn’t understand much, but he knows how to heal animals. She loves regularity and music: she goes out to the market with her mother every week to get on her favorite horse on the city carousel.
But one day the armed Germans march in and occupy the city. The dreaded carousel will be damaged, the horses and ornaments will shatter, and nothing will be the same anymore. Then, as a symbol of an increasingly crumbling world, an exceptionally kind German corporal sets up on the farm with an injured flamingo chick in his hand — wounded by a cannon, and the boy’s only chance of recovery.
But with the help of the soldier, maybe they can repair everything that went wrong again - and together, maybe they can put the whole city in order ...
