Mándy Iván - A csőszház - Egy painter ifjúsága

Even though the time of the plot is different, the target readership is different, the milieu and the style are different, The Piper's House and The Youth of A Painter also testify to Mándy (the first short novel even with its subtly hidden, lyrical autobiography). To be attached to a small world and to break away from it: this is the duality experienced by the "artist" of the Pest square depicted like a dream and film, and Miklós Barabás, the childlike young man who promises to be a great painter. For both of them - and also for other figures in their environment, their environment - loyalty, the questions opened by love and horizons (not always "big") must be answered.
