The MAGUS SPH2 Phase Contrast device contains a set of phase control slides, phase lens and a centralizing telescope. The phase control tool is used to study transparent low -contrast patterns that are not visible in a clear visual field. Painting kills living cells. The main advantage of the technique is that living organisms can be studied in their unpainted, natural condition. The technique is used in medicine, ecology, pharmacy, agriculture and elsewhere.

Phase control slides
The phase control slide is inserted into the condensor opening. The slider is a disk that has two openings: one free opening is for light vision observations and the other opening has a phase insert corresponding to the lens just used. The phase control device comes with two types of slides: one contains the 10x, 20x and 40x lens inserts and the other insert with a 100x lens. The labeling of the insert corresponds to the lens just used. With the slider, you can easily switch from light-looking observations to phase control technology and then back.

Flat-acromatic phase lens
Phase lenses differ from standard lenses in that they have a phase ring in the descending pupil plane. Plan-acromatic phase lenses form an image that provides the same focus at the center and at the edges, so distortion is negligible. Chromatic aberration is blue and red, spherical aberration for green, and the curvature of the field of view is 90%of the diameter of the field of vision. The 10x lens can also be used for samples with or without tops. The 20x, 40x and 100x lenses are used to monitor samples with a top of 0.17 mm. The 100x lens supports the oil molding technique. The lenses are designed for infinitely adjusted tube length. The parcocal distance is 60 mm.

Centralizing telescope
Using the centralizing telescope, the ring diaphragms of the sliders can be adjusted to the lens phase rings.
