The polarizer was designed for observations using the polarized light method. It consists of a polarizer and an analyzer. Depending on the position of the polarizer and the analyzer in relation to each other, the strength of the transmitted light changes. If they are placed perpendicular to each other, a total darkening effect is observed.
Anisotropic geological, biological and polymer samples are examined in polarized light.
