MAGUS SE10S 10х/22 mm (D 30 mm) eyepiece scale

The eyepiece of the SE10S not only offers 10x magnification, but also has a scale with which the size of the sample or its structures can be evaluated in millimeters or microns. The 0.1 mm graduated scale is located in the area of ​​the field diaphragm of the eyepiece. Before starting the measurements, calibrate the scale to the parameters of each lens you intend to use. The SE10S model can be installed in a 30 mm tube.

Calibration
Calibration can be done using a calibration slide (also known as a stage micrometer). Place it on the stage and focus the microscope on its 0.1 mm scale. Then rotate the eyepiece in the tube until the graduations on the eyepiece scale are parallel to the graduations on the calibration slide.

Calculation
- Use the following formula to calibrate the eyepiece scale for the selected lens
- E = TL/A, where
- E – division of the lens scale;
- T – scale division of the stage micrometer, marked on the stage micrometer (0.01 mm)
- L – the number of divisions on the stage micrometer
- A – the number of divisions on the eyepiece scale

The E value must be recorded for each lens. When measuring the sample, count how many divisions there are between the two desired points on the lens scale. After that, multiply this number by E. The result thus obtained is the linear value of the measured object.
