Product description

The MAGUS Lum 400L fluorescent microscope can be used for two types of microscopy techniques - fluorescent with reflected light and bright field with transmitted light. Equipped with additional accessories, the microscope can also be used for research with polarized light, dark field and phase contrast techniques. The microscope can be used for research and laboratory diagnostics in medicine, pharmacology, forensic medicine, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, etc. area.

Digital camera
MAGUS CHD40 is a digital HDMI camera with three video interfaces and automatic switching function between 4K and Full HD depending on the monitor resolution.
The camera's 8-megapixel sensor, connected via HDMI or USB 3.0, captures realistic 4K resolution (3840x2160 px) images. When connected via Wi-Fi, Full HD (1920x1080 px) image quality is available. The camera can be connected directly to a TV, monitor or projector with an HDMI interface. In this mode, the camera works independently without a computer. The HDMI connector provides a high and stable transfer rate when transferring from the camera to an external screen. You can connect the camera to a computer via Wi-Fi or USB 3.0. Video is recorded at 30 frames per second (fps).
The camera combines high FPS and high bandwidth HDMI. Thus, the videos have bright colors, there are no freezes or gaps between the frames. At maximum resolution, the image is well detailed, moving objects are visible without error, and the movement of objects is displayed without delay.

Monitor
The MAGUS MCD40 monitor is intended for use with the visualization system of the MAGUS microscope. The monitor is connected to a camera mounted on the microscope to display real-time images. MAGUS supports 4K HDMI cameras. The diagonal of the screen is 13.3 inches. The IPS matrix provides bright images with large viewing angles. If you look at the display from an angle, the color reproduction is not distorted. You can place the display on a folding stand, table or shelf, or attach it directly to the camera or microscope stand.

Optical elements
The three-eyepiece head includes two eyepiece tubes for observations, and a three-eyepiece tube for attaching the digital camera (the camera is not included). For comfortable, longer observations, the 360° rotatable eyepiece tubes can be adjusted to the height of the observer. These are tilted at an angle of 30°.

The 5-lens turret faces inwards - the user can see the lens inserted into the optical path. It comes with four infinity-plane achromatic lenses: three for the clear field of view and one for the fluorescent technique (fluo). One socket remains free when all lenses are inserted into the turret. It is used to adjust the position of the reflective lighting. An optional lens can be inserted for extra magnification.

Illumination
The reflective light source is provided by four 5 W LEDs. Each LED has a specific waveband: blue (B), green (G), violet (V) and ultraviolet (UV). To select the LED to be used for the job, turn the ring. The advantage of LED lighting is that the LEDs turn on and off quickly, so it is easy to switch (and back) from bright field to fluorescence. LEDs do not get hot, do not need heat dissipation, and have a lifespan (without replacement) of 50,000 hours. LED-based fluorescence is an easy-to-maintain and safe microscopy technique, so its use is also recommended in schools and universities.

The transmitted light is provided by a 3 W LED. It also has a lifespan of 50,000 hours. There is also a condenser in the lighting system. There is a groove on the condenser, into which the dark field slider or the phase contrast slider can be inserted. The slider allows you to easily and quickly switch between microscopy techniques without changing the condenser.

Köhler lighting can be used for both transmitted and reflected light. The test object is in sharp focus, image defects are removed. There is no darkening at the edges and the resolution limit is reached with all lenses.

Stage and focusing mechanism
The microscope stage has a removable specimen holder that can be removed for manual scanning. The table does not have a positioning stand. Therefore, it requires less space to work. A black stage plate can also be placed on the stage to eliminate stray light from the transmitted light source when observing in reflected light.

The coaxial coarse and fine adjustment buttons are located on the bottom of the microscope, on both sides. The coarse focus has a lock button and is adjustable in tension.

Accessories
The functions of the MAGUS Lum 400L microscope can be expanded with a wide range of compatible accessories. You can use eye lenses, objectives, dark field, polarized light and
