Product description
The MAGUS HCM360 is made up of a flat acromatic lens set, condensor and slide, which is designed for the Hoffman modulation-contrasted microscope technique. The lens modulator is adjusted to the slide slots with the centralizing telescope of the Microszlo Star.
The Hoffman modulation contrast technique produces high resolution spatial images of live objects. It provides good visibility and contrast to the samples, with high resolution details and without refractive fish, allowing the use of long work distances and large numeric apertures.
The technique does not reduce image quality when using both glass and plastic laboratory vessels and is therefore widely used to observe and photograph cultures, cells and tissues bred in containers, petri dishes and vessels.
One of the most common applications of Hoffman modulation contrast is artificial insemination. The technique allows for real -time study of dynamic processes and provides valuable information on cell behavior and interactions.

Lens
Hoffman lenses differ from normal lenses in that there is an amplitude filter (modulator) on the rear focal plane. The modulator has three zones: the first to pass 1%(dark zone), the second-15%(gray zone) and the third-100%(transparent zone). The HOFFMME is an objective ring rotating the module and returned to its operating location.
The modulator in the Hoffmann lens does not change the phase of the light as the phase lens in the phase lens, it only affects the brightness. The image given by the modulator seems to be a highlighted.

For Hoffman flat-acromatic lenses, the focus is the same on the edges of the image and in the center, so the distortion is negligible. The color defects are corrected for blue and red, the spherical error is green and the field curvature is corrected to 90%of the diameter of the field of vision. The lenses can be used for work with a thickness of 1.2 mm and are made for an infinitely adjusted tube length. The parcocal distance is 60 mm.
Hoffman condenser
The Hoffman Condensor is replaced by a light -minded condensor. There is a socket for the Hoffman modulation contrast slide, an aperture compartment and a polarizer controlling the slot. The polarizer can be rotated at 360 °. Rotated with a rotary ring above the compartment of the compartment.

Hoffman slide
The Hoffman slide is replaced by the Hoffman condensor. The slide has three round inserts for 10x, 20x and 40x lenses. The labeling of the insert corresponds to the lens just used. Each insert has two openings: one is locked free and the other is closed by a polarizer. On the slide, the inserts can be rotated at 360 ° and adjusted to the center.
Setting a microscope to use the Hoffman modulation contrast technique
1. The Hoffman condenser and lenses are mounted on the microscope.
2. The lens in the light path is focused on the pattern in the light field.
3. The hoffman slide is inserted into the condensor opening, the insert is selected based on the enlargement of the lens. The condensor aperture must be completely open.
4. One eye lens is removed from the microscope head and the centralizing telescope of the microscope kit is replaced. Align the lens modulator to the slits of the slide. The modulator zones and gaps should be parallel when one gap is completely projected on the gray zone and the other on the transparent zone. If the ring movement is not sufficient to install the modulator to the desired position, remove the slide from the condensor, rotate the slot insert, reassemble the slide into the opening and re -adjust.
5. By rotating the condensor, it blocks the slot opening in the transparent zone: it can be completely closed, partially closed or open.
6. When returning to a light -minded technique, the Hoffman slide must be removed from the condensor. The lenses and the condenser are not necessary to remove as they are suitable for the clear vision observation. To achieve the best image quality, we recommend using MAGUS 10PL60V, 20PL60V and 40PL60V lenses in a clear field of view and a normal condenser from the microscope kit.
