This is the dark field slider (plate) for the MAGUS microscope. It is designed for the examination of unstained, transparent samples that can only be seen with the dark field technique. The slider has two apertures: one with a built-in darkfield aperture and the other open for brightfield technique. Thanks to this design, the microscope technique can be quickly changed.

The MAGUS DFS1 slider takes the place of the Abbe condenser. The plate can only be used if you are working with a non-oily (dry) lens with an aperture smaller than 0.9. Ideally, the thickness of the cover glass should not be thicker than 0.17 mm, and the thickness of the glass plate should not be thicker than 1.2 mm. The contrast of the image will be the best possible under these conditions.
