20x magnification objective for a metallographic microscope. It can be optimally used with eyepieces with a magnification between 10x and 20x. With this objective, the microscope has a useful magnification range of 200-400x; its maximum resolution is 0.69 µm.

The plane-achromatic optics correct the curvature of the field of view by 90% and provide a clear, distortion-free image in almost the entire field of view. The lens should be used with wide (22 mm) eyepieces. Combined with a 10x/22 mm eyepiece, you can get a 1.1 mm diameter field of view. It corrects chromatic aberration for red and blue colors, and spherical aberration for green colors.

Metallographic objectives must be used without a cover glass. There may be large height differences in the texture of the object being examined, and there is a risk of damage to the objective or sample when using the normal lens position. Therefore, the MAGUS 20PLL objective for metallographic microscopes has a longer than normal working distance (8.8 mm).

The objective is compatible with infinity-corrected microscopes. The parfocality is 45 mm.
