Lesley Pearse - House az street túloldalán

Twenty-three-year-old Katy Speed is fascinated by the house across the street. Gloria, the woman who lives there, owns a fashionable clothes shop in Bexhill-on-Sea, just a stone's throw from Katy's workplace, and is a wonderful neighbour. But who is the woman who comes to him on Saturdays in a black car while Gloria is at work? Sometimes he brings women with him, sometimes he brings children along with the women.
Hilda, Katy's mother, condemns Gloria. He says he wouldn't be surprised if it turns out these mysterious visitors have just been released from prison. Could Gloria be secretly bringing criminals into the heart of the community, or worse?
Then one night the house burns down. The bodies of Gloria and her daughter are found in the rubble. Katy is certain the unexplained visitors are responsible until her father is arrested and charged with murder. Did the police arrest the right person? Is the rest of the street safe? Will Katy find out the truth before it's too late?
