Product description
The Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift is an ultra-wide-angle shift lens that you can't resist. In addition to high image sharpness and almost distortion-free (Zero-D), the lens also has a rotatable hood that helps to avoid glare and protects the front lens element.
The amount of shift is ±11 mm for full-frame cameras and ±8 mm for medium-format cameras, making architectural and interior photography in corrected perspective extremely easy. The Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift expands Laowa's range of shiftable lenses, offering an additional option for different needs.
20mm ultra-wide angle lens
With a viewing angle of 94.4° (up to 117° for panoramic photography), it captures the entire scene while reducing large empty areas. Ideal for architectural and interior photography to balance the subject and background.
±11 mm offset
The maximum possible shift of the lens is ±11 mm for full-frame cameras and ±8 mm for medium-format cameras (e.g. Fujifilm GFX / Hasselblad X1D). Adequate shift capability allows photographers to correct for converging vertical lines created by distance. Straight architectural elements can easily be captured by changing the perspective of the lens.
Outstanding optical performance
This lens features 16 elements in 11 groups, including 2 aspherical and 3 ED elements, providing impressive control over chromatic aberration and image sharpness from center to edge.
"Zero" distortion
The Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift is one of the "Zero-D" members, with near-zero distortion, which means any straight line can be maintained from corner to corner. This is an essential advantage for architectural, commercial, interior and landscape photographers, as post-production time is significantly reduced to make the image look realistic.
14 lamella compartments
The 14-blade aperture creates a smooth and circular bokeh, the effect is pleasantly impressive for architectural photography.
Close focal length
In addition to distant architectural photography, the Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift lens also supports capturing very close objects with a minimum focus distance of 25 cm. You can easily take wide-angle macro images without changing the lens.
Rotatable sun visor
A 360° rotatable lens hood shades the front of the lens, keeping images free of unwanted flare and fading. It is extremely convenient to use when there is a strong light source on the side. Photographers can also adjust the angle of the lens hood to avoid obscuring the image in extreme shifts.
82 mm filter thread
The Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift has an 82mm filter thread that can be used with a screw-in filter, which is cheaper, lighter and more compact than buying a separate filter holder.
Specially designed lens support
The new lens support is compatible with both the 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift and 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift lenses. The outer rotatable ring is particularly useful for holding the image axis during orientation and panning. Achieving perfect alignment is especially important for panoramic photography, and the shift lens support makes this much easier.
