This black kinesiology tape is an elastic cotton adhesive strip used to support muscles and joints. It was developed by the Japanese chiropractor Dr. Kenzo Kase and is designed to activate the body's natural self-healing processes. The material is breathable, water-resistant and, with its elasticity similar to human skin, stretches along its length.

The method is based on the idea that joint complaints are often linked to asymmetry in the surrounding muscles, while pain may stem from faulty function of the tissues that wrap around joints and muscles.
