Product description
A little girl from Székesfehérvár in the 1980s, trapped in the characteristic, metal-smelling, scribbled elevator of their housing estate, decides: she will never allow the world to close in on her again.
Perhaps this experience also played a role in the fact that Ági, growing up during the regime change, even as a teenager, with inexhaustible enthusiasm, energy and determination, seeks ways of self-expression and breaking out, from ballet to theater to singing, and then at the age of twenty, fate throws her into a reality show that is starting at that time. . Ágnes Kégl's name and face were recognized by a country, but thanks to her TV appearance, she realized that the real world is completely different.
How where? This is what the author tells in the true story of his life, which spans from Fehérvár to Budapest to England and contains so many experiences, trials, successes, failures and new beginnings.
How does a young mother raising her child alone in a foreign country manage her daily life? What does a successful Hungarian journalist do when he moves abroad and has to part with his main tool, his mother tongue? How does a single woman with a small child find a partner in England? How can he adapt to changes, and how does he himself change and change?
Ágnes Kégl shares her adventurous or heartbreaking experiences at home and in the wider world honestly, with great enthusiasm and with a lot of humor, thereby giving strength to all those who walk in similar shoes - or even read this instructive story for all of us from a completely different life situation. Because even if the Ferris wheel often takes you down, it always lifts you up.
