Johan Ickx - XII. Piusz and a zsidók - Pacelli listája: 2800 üldözött segélykérő levele alapján

The Vatican is not afraid of history - said Pope Francis in March 2020, when he announced that the Vatican archives XII. documents created under Pope Pius. However, the book by Johan Ickx, Director of the Historical Archives of the Interstate Relations Section of the Vatican Secretariat of State, reveals that the Holy See has no reason to be afraid. XII. Piusz was unjustly accused of not helping the Jews at all during the Second World War, although this book does not intend to answer whether the Pope could have done more for them. Through human destinies, fairy tales and short stories, the author presents the comprehensive diplomatic activity of the Holy See during the Second World War to help the persecuted who turned to the Vatican and directly to the Pope.
The volume thus opens a new era XII. Regarding Piusz's papacy, he makes a sketch of the first section of the State Secretariat, the Office that was responsible for international relations during the troubled times.
