The meeting of Silent Witness and Stephen King is this eerie horror: Parker, a young, overconfident psychiatrist, gets a job in a New England mental institution and ends up disastrously wrong when he tries to cure a mysterious and extremely dangerous patient.

Parker later publishes his heartbreaking account in Internet posts. We get to know the hospital's most difficult and dangerous case: a forty-year-old man who entered the institution at the age of six. No one has yet been able to diagnose this patient. His symptoms are constantly changing, and those who tried to cure him later all went insane or committed suicide.

The hospital's desperate and terrified directors keep it under strict lockdown, and the workers are only allowed to contact it for their own good when absolutely necessary. However, the highly intelligent and overconfident Parker decides to find out what kind of disease is afflicting this mysterious patient. However, at the very first meeting, control slips out of his hands, and soon he is faced with answers that surpass even his wildest imagination.
