J. R. Ward - Az devil martaléka - A bourbon királyai 3.

After confessing to killing his hated enemy, his own father, Edward is taken into custody. The man's heart is filled with sadness and regret... but he is not grieving his family or his freedom, but the woman he loved, whom he lost forever.

Sutton Smythe, the love of her life, the only person she's ever been interested in, is the managing director of arch-rival Bradford Bourbon Company, and that's at least as much of an obstacle to their future together as prison. Edward's departure also causes serious annoyance to his brother, Lane Baldwine, who intended to spend his whole life in the carelessness of the golden boys, but due to his brother's arrest, he is forced to take the leadership seat. Convinced that Edward is lying to someone, he and his love, Lizzie King, track down the case - and discover a secret that will change everything.

As Lane pursues the truth, Sutton finds herself less and less able to resist Edward's attraction despite recent events. The changes taking place at Easterly do not escape anyone; for some, things could not turn out any better, but for others, a series of unimaginable tragedies await. One thing is for sure: love survives everything. Even murder.
