J. D. Barker - A fourth monkey

The Four Monkey Killers have been terrorizing Chicagoans for over five years. His victims are usually young girls, and his methods and "trademark" are particularly cruel. Even after all these years, the police are only groping in the dark, until one day they report a fatal trampling accident at a bus stop. The victim turns out to be the Four Monkey Killer. During the crime scene, a diary is found in his possession, and everything points to the fact that the long-sought villain just kidnapped one last victim before the end unexpectedly caught up with him.

Detective Sam Porter, head of the homicide unit, knows he has very little time left to find the kidnapped girl. Reading the diary of a serial killer, he dives into the consciousness and strange life story of a psychopath, and finds things that cannot be prepared for. Time is running out, and the Four Monkey Killers even taunt the police from the afterlife in this masterfully written, gripping thriller.

J. D. In Barker's novel, the atmosphere of The Seventh and Listen to the Lambs meet, while the author brilliantly thinks through and renews the stories based on serial killers with a main villain who will not be forgotten anytime soon.
