Product description
The HOYA variable ND filter uses two polarizing filters to control the amount of transmitted light that passes through the filter surface and the camera lens. At minimum effect, 1/3 of the light is taken off during recording, which means 1.5 aperture for the aperture or shutter speed setting. At maximum effect, the filter: allows only 1/400th of the light to pass through when taking the picture.
This is equivalent to 9 f-stops when setting the aperture or shutter speed. If you place the filter on the lens, you can control the amount of light passing through the lens by rotating the filter between the minimum and maximum positions.
With the HOYA variable ND filter, for example: you can take photos with the 50mm/1.4 lens in the sun with the aperture fully open, or you can extend the shutter speed to a few seconds even in the sun.
With this, artistic shots can be taken, for example: blurred soft surfaces are created when photographing waterfalls, streams, etc. But we can photograph everything that moves, cars, people, the creative possibilities are endless.
