In recent years, the subwoofers of the Mille Legend series have been chosen by many music fans looking for extreme performance. With the ML 1650.3 Legend set, the designers have once again increased the performance limit achieved by speakers designed for door installation. In order to achieve this, long-term sound quality tests were carried out after several prototypes were made using the FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulation method and tested with Klippel technology measurements.

WIDE FREQUENCY BAND, 36 MM VOICE COIL

The ML 1650.3 Mille Legend features a 36mm mobile voice coil to provide exceptional power handling and very high thermal stability even for bass-rich tracks. This size provides the best compromise between power handling and wide frequency range delivery, which is more than enough to create a perfect two-way system when supplemented with an ML.280.3 tweeter*.

ENGINEERING DESIGN AT ADVANCED DEGREE

Exponential V-cone with optimized geometry for best linearity and dispersion, CNC-machined low-carbon plates for maximum magnetic transmission and low distortion, pressed cellulose membrane reinforced with cotton fibers with adequate stiffness and low weight for wide frequency range transmission, three-spoke acoustically permeable aluminum basket. The combination of these technologies enabled the joint appearance of high quality and extreme performance. In order to transmit the lowest frequencies of the woofers, the diaphragm must move a remarkable amount of air, so it is forced to make long movements and large swings, similar to a piston. The V-cone® profile prevents deformation of the membrane, ensuring the correct position of the "piston", maximizing the generation of acoustic pressure.

For smaller diameter components, such as the ML 700.3 Legend midrange, the exponential profile is close to perfect, providing excellent dispersion in the mid-high frequencies. The exponential profile is very close to a perfect design for ideal radiation reproduction.

This technology makes it possible to achieve a wider emission surface of the cone compared to speakers of the same diameter; In this way, the cone can move a larger mass of air, thus resulting in a higher acoustic pressure. This special rubber lip is made from ultra-pure IIR butyl rubber, which provides exceptional thermal and mechanical linearity.
