Havas Ágnes - "Elmondom hát mindenkinek" - Ági and Juci emlékei a deportálásról
Product description
Ági and Juci Havas arrived in Auschwitz in mid-July 1944 on a transport from Hungary. They were sixteen years old and, being identical twins, they looked very much alike. During the sorting of the two teenage girls upon arrival, a very well-dressed SS officer - as they later found out, Dr. Josef Mengele - set him aside in front of the train's locomotive, while their father and grandmother were immediately directed to the line of those condemned to the gas chamber.
The now eighty-six-year-old Ágnes Havas - who has been regularly lecturing about the Holocaust in high schools for quite a few years - describes her time in Auschwitz in her book, presenting the everyday life of the camp, the "life" there. His report also introduces readers to shocking, previously unknown facts.
