Francis Scott Fitzgerald - Szépek and átkozottak

The best-known novel of the great writer of the Jazz Age is The Great Gatsby, which has been referred to as a masterpiece ever since. His second novel was published in 1921, with no less success, readers and critics alike loved the author from the first minute. The Beautiful and the Damned is the love story of the talented, artistically inclined Anthony Patch and the adorably beautiful Gloria Gilbert. Love turns into marriage, and their love wears out over the years.

"What we lose seems much sweeter in retrospect," notes Fitzgerald, who wrote his own disappointment in his book. .. Then when it became mine, it crumbled to dust in my hands... And from this I learned that one cannot acquire anything for oneself, absolutely nothing. Because our desires deceive us."

Like all inspired Fitzgerald books, The Beautiful and the Damned is a heartbreakingly authentic chronicle of disillusionment.
