The final D8000 DC Pro Planar Magnetic Interchangeable Cable Flagship Headphone is actually a completely redesigned D8000. While the silver milled aluminum housing looks similar to its predecessor, the manufacturer's responsive and detailed-sounding AFDS (Air Film Damping System) planar driver offers lower distortion, transient response and overall better resolution. A significant external change is the new ear cushion of the DC Pro, which is one and a half times thicker than that of the original D8000.

These headphones are made in two versions. The standard, black version places a stronger emphasis on deep tones, while the matte silver DC Pro model produces tighter bass and more refined highs. The design of the acoustic chamber is different between the two versions, and the 4.4mm and XLR cables packed for the DC are OFC copper cables, while the DC Pro cables with the same connector are silver coated.

The "DC" in the name of the headphones refers to the Italian musical term "Da Capo (D.C.)", which means "back to the beginning". True to its name, final offers premium headphones that have been rethought and renewed in every aspect, so that everyone can experience the joy of music again and again.

Final D8000 DC is the latest chapter of the legendary D8000 series, which returns in a completely renewed form as a result of seven years of experience and development. The name "DC" comes from the musical expression "Da Capo", meaning "back to the beginning" - this reflects the philosophy of the model, which was born by going back to the roots, but using the most modern technologies. The goal was to create a flagship headphone that combines natural sound, engineering precision and long-term comfort without compromise.

Advanced AFDS technology

Final's self-developed AFDS (Air Film Damping System) system regulates the movement of the diaphragm in a revolutionary way, eliminating the typical problem of planar magnetic drivers, the weak reproduction of bass. In the D8000 DC, this technology has been completely redesigned: the pattern, distribution and design of the perforated metal plates are precisely optimized, thus ensuring a more detailed and clearer sound in all frequency ranges.

Thanks to the membrane made of ultra-light, thin aluminum foil, the weight of the vibrating system has been reduced by a third, which results in extraordinary speed, airiness and naturalness. The sound is therefore both full-bodied and delicate, the lows are precise, the highs are crystal clear, and the midrange is balanced.

Increased openness and wide soundstage

Compared to the previous D8000 model, by removing the magnet in front of the driver, the open surface ratio has increased by about 70%. This construction contributes to distortion-free sounding of high frequencies and a perceptible increase in the width and depth of the sound stage. This way, the listener gets even closer to the live music experience.

Lighter and more comfortable design

Thanks to the redesigned structure, the weight of the D8000 DC has been reduced by approximately 100 grams compared to the previous generation. This, together with the soft, airy ear cushions, significantly improves long-term wearing comfort, making the headphones ideal for marathon music listening or work processes.

Premium ear cushions with Japanese paper fabric

The ear pads and headband of the D8000 DC are made of a unique Japanese paper fabric that is dry to the touch, durable and breathable. The new cushions are 1.5 times thicker than their predecessors, providing more acoustic space around the ear and contributing to a wider, more natural soundstage. Air permeability allows the bass to sound natural without artificially amplifying it.

Japanese precision and durability

The headphone housing is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy with high-precision CNC machining. This extreme rigidity ensures that the drivers operate without resonance, while the construction guarantees reliability for many years. Every part of the D8000 DC is made in Japan at Final's headquarters in Kawasaki, where the entire manufacturing process is overseen in-house – from material processing to assembly.

Repairable, designed for the long term

Final paid special attention to long-term sustainability: almost all parts of the D8000 DC are bolted, so they can be easily repaired or replaced if necessary. This is a rarity in the world of high-end headphones and represents real value in terms of durability.
