A writer who cultivates autofiction cannot avoid constantly being suspected of being autobiographical. However, if you like, György Ferdinandy's most "autobiographical" texts are his short novels, stories and short stories written with a sociological sensitivity, since these are the most fact-based chapters of his literary oeuvre.

The title of our present volume - Mammuttemető and other stories - emphasizes that it is not a reissue of the first part of the Rainbow Books series, entitled Mammuttemető, printed in Chicago in 1982. More than that: a thematic selection of Ferdinandy's works published between 1973 and 2018, as well as the only one written in 2022, which narrate individual life journeys in the form of portraits or sociographies.
