Product description
There was no need for a report or any specific event to prevent the then director of the publishing house from wanting to publish György Lukács's biography. After all, Éva Fekete's biography of Lukács was about a man who declared himself a communist all his life, but despite all his disappointments and mistakes, he believed that communism could only be realized through a deep, democratic transformation of society, together with it. (Ferenc Kőszeg)
"Every significant person has only one thought; indeed, it is questionable whether thought can be plural at all." While we are already tempting the impossible to even flash Lukács's "single thought" in a short point, we must definitely put it aside here in order to discuss the above thesis now. Be that as it may, it is worth starting from Lukács's aphorism. "Works of art exist - how are they possible?" is the question paraphrasing Kant from the early philosophy of art written at the beginning of the last century, which accompanies György Lukács throughout his long life. At first glance, the question itself appears to be a narrow aesthetic problem, but it can also be considered a basic question of possible aesthetics. Our claim is that it is actually the basic question of György Lukács's philosophy, and the life path can also be considered as a renewed attempt to satisfy the felt need to find answers to this question.
