Passions and betrayals, love and revenge in the storms of revolution and freedom struggle.
The story of Ilka Györöky and his family, known from the lovers of the Anna ball, continues in the next decade of the justly famous reform era in Balatonfüred. In the 1840s, an even more lively and colorful social and cultural life took place in the popular holiday resort, and the annual Anna Balls became an ever-greater attraction for the locals and guests from further afield. Almost every year there is a new sensation or occasion to celebrate: for example, the construction of the new Round Church or the launching of the Kisfaludy steamboat. Ilka's children are slowly growing up, and in this busy decade they too experience the emotional storms of love, friendship, rivalry and enmity.
The world-historical year 1848 slowly arrives, when the whirlwind of history turns all of their lives upside down.
In Janka Fábián's new novel, in addition to Balatonfüred, we can now also visit Vienna and Bratislava to witness how the people of the time lived through the exciting years of the late reform era, which culminated in the revolution and freedom struggle.
