"Doppler, the rebellious Norwegian anti-hero, finally returns home, but the arrival does not prove to be cloudless. He has to experience that the world - at least as he has known it up until now - is now over. Reintegration is as much a challenge as the adventures of the past years. we can win into the opulence of Oslo's garden cities, we get to know the Doppler family, his extremely horny rival for the role of the alpha male, and the black-belt guru of an apocalyptic movement appear. at the end of the movie, we reach Doppler's gospel, sacral pornography.
Loe's social criticism, served with unadulterated Scandinavian humor, is also on point this time, yet we begin to suspect that Doppler's problem is not with the world, but rather with himself.
We meet Erlend Loe again in his best form, full of storytelling spirit. The final volume of the trilogy is an enjoyable read in itself, and a must for Doppler fans.
