Ella Carey - New York-i secret

1942, New York. A war is raging in Europe, and Lily Rose - defying the expectations of her rich family - works as a cook in one of the best restaurants in town, where, being a woman, she can even become a chef. She is aided in her endeavors by the handsome Sicilian chef Tom Morelli, with whom they work late into the night every day to serve delicious food to New Yorkers.
Lily's mother, on the other hand, does everything to dissuade her daughter from her goals: she tells her that she must marry the man she has chosen for her.
However, war changes everything. Tom and Lily's future fiance must also enlist, and Lily must decide: should she stay with her family and continue to live a safe life befitting her social status, or should she follow her heart?
Set during World War II, Ella Carey's romantic novel is a compelling story of courage, love and friendship. It sensitively depicts how the war gradually overshadows the luxurious American life and at the same time opens up the opportunity for a young woman to realize her dreams in this uncertain world.
