Product description
Sodium percarbonate, also known as spot cleaning salt, is a versatile and environmentally friendly cleaning agent that provides an effective solution for spot cleaning, bleaching and mold removal. For example, it is excellent for cleaning tile joints, reviving grayed white towels or removing ammonia from diapers. In water, it breaks down into washing soda and active oxygen, which decompose naturally, so they do not pose a threat to wildlife in small quantities. Active oxygen can be released in an aqueous medium in several ways: under the influence of a temperature of at least 50 °C, with a longer soaking of at least 50 minutes, and the process can also be started in an acidic medium, for example by adding citric acid, which further increases the cleaning effect.
Important information:
- Stain-cleaning salt can fade colored and dark materials, especially if soaked for a long time. Therefore, we use it with caution in the case of such textiles.
- Always prepare the solution freshly, as the active oxygen breaks down over time and the mixture loses its effectiveness.
- Stain-cleaning salt is considered a more dangerous substance than washing soda, but it can cause a health or environmental problem if it is swallowed in a concentrated form, or a large amount of it enters as a pollutant - not by washing - for example into groundwater and thus into living water.
