Citric acid is a substance similar to granulated sugar, only it does not taste sweet, but on the contrary, it is distinctly sour. Let's say it's nice that it is, since it occurs in many sour fruits in the free state (currants, cherries, red currants, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, but of course lemons and their relatives are especially abundant in them).

Edible citric acid is most often used for flavoring food and as an acidity regulator, but it is also excellent for cleaning. It can be used for descaling small household appliances, softening water, and against stains and greasy dirt. Great as a pre-wash and wash additive for bleach, as well as for cleaning carpets and upholstery.
